Long time with no writing but...

good news. I was not 95% responsible for the little accident and received $300 towards the $500 deductible. Just made me feel sooo much better.

Again attempting to weed stuff out. Very hard to keep getting rid of almost 70 years of "junk" accumulated. Getting so easy to be ruthless and just let it go.

Poor Dear Jane. I have not worked on her very faithfully. Did go to In-Between last Saturday and spent the whole 4 hours working on Lemoyne Star. Would not be bad if a bigger size but this 4 1/2" block is very tiny! May not be up to Sally Collins' perfection level but the seams do match.

President Obama on the View today - a first time ever for a President. Feel sorry for the man with way too many problems going on (war, oil spill in Louisiana, war, economy down because of the banks loaning money to people who cannot pay for their houses, war

Evan still working and still in Michigan
Ryan divorce final
Andy attempting baby adoption
Maegan and friends at the shore for the week

Okay, working on a quilt for my bed. Just can't get it exactly right. Had it hand appliqued and took it apart and redid. Will see if I continue to finish or change again.

First Car Accident Ever

Last week on the 12th I was attempting to turn left and could not see if any cars were coming. I had to keep inching out and then wham, a young man in a Mustang was coming straight for my door. He swerved and stopped but not before hitting my back door. Luckily no one was hurt, we exchanged information, a lady stopped who said she saw it and that he was going too fast, and that was it.

I got repair estimate where I need two new doors.

My insurance lady said it was a 50/50 at fault. Now I have received a letter from other insurance stating that I am 95% responsible!!! So now I have heart palpatations again, can't sleep, and worried that I will not be able to go to New York next week to see granddaughter for her 2nd birthday. Will just have to double up on heart medicine. Besides seeing Ella, I also have tickets to see James Spader (wow) in a play called Rape. Has a great cast and one is Richard Thomas (John Boy) who is great in plays. Have sent the tickets to my daughter so they could at least go and get a couple of friends for the other tickets. Unknown why this whole thing worries me so much. This is my first accident ever after 50+ years of driving!

Will be interested to read my future blogs and see how this plays out...

Okay, now it is March 9th. And the bedrooms? Well, they are not finished. But... the living room has been rearranged and all that is left is move some boxes out of dining room and move a cabinet in their place and then finally move TV into proper position. Sounds so simple. Let's see what I write next month!

Family is doing well. I am doing a lot of babysitting for Antonio - such fun. And I got notice of jury duty in the mail today so I sent them a note saying why I couldn't. Hope they accept. Who is going to take care of all the kids and pick them up from school???

Linda from across the street came over because she could not get her microwave to work. So I went and picked up her plate and brought it over to mine and heated it for her and then took it back. Such a nice couple they are and John is not home tonight to help her. So I think it is almost an "alchemist" thing even tho one day late - yesterday was Elizabeth's 43 birthday.

Been busy weekends - Darlene here 4 days 2 weeks ago and last week the Pat's came and we went to Ikea. This Friday Mary and Peggy supposed to come, Sat is Antonio's 4th birthday and then guild, and Sunday Bob. So that is another reason I am not moving too fast on those bedrooms. Tonite I plan on putting the finishing paint job on the cabinets (what a pain getting these done) and bless Ryan that he put them together for me. I just couldn't get it going with them even tho I have put together 4 of them before. And I am still working on the stained glass for window. Using the French General quilt as my pattern - we'll see how it turns out.

It's a New Year

Time moves too fast! Waiting for Christmas and it has come and gone and now moving into second week of the new year.

Decided to do a big move and change out some bedrooms to give room for the many shelves of fabric. What a job it will be. But it can be fun - paint and get the dust bunnies cleaned up and sew some quilts, etc.

Back to Dear Jane. Trying to get past the first 50 blocks. Had one of our meetings today and thank heavens everyone is geared up to get back to the groove of at least a couple of blocks every week. Some people are good and do the block-a-day (my initial goal so I would be done in a year!) but too many interruptions.

It is past 12:00 so into my birthday horoscope: Yesterday it said I would need to be on top of money matters and today's states I should keep my mouth closed. What a strange grouping. I am keeping a diary of every month to see how it shapes up. At my next birthday I will begin to count backwards every year - this is an experiment to see if I start looking younger (hahaha).

Ho, hum

I am never going to get into this 'blog' thing. How do people find the time for it all? I was into an Australian site for quilting and found wonderful fabric. They wanted $6.50 for a fourth of a yard. So I found a site in US and the whole yard sold for $9.00. And they are only in Oregon.

My daughter moved to New York with husband and daughter and sad that it is first time in 36 years we have not lived near each other. And I have to get going on the Xmas presents to send and I am not ready. Can I just send money and they can buy their own??? All of a sudden when my kids have gotten big Xmas is not as fun as when you bought them toys. There are grandkids to buy the toys for but never sure it is exactly what they wanted. The grandkids go from 20 down to 18 months.

Well, it is after 1:00 am and time to retire for the night.
